Mesmerizing Kinnaur Tour Experience
About 146 miles away from Shimla, the state capital of Himachal Pradesh, Kinnaur district is the home to the Kinnaur Kailash peak; is one of the least populated and yet the second richest districts of the mountain state of Himachal Pradesh. Our mesmerizing Kinnaur Tour starts with your road journey from Chandigarh to Shillaroo (Narkanda) that takes about five hours.
After a night’s stay at Shillaroo, guests are driven up through the mountainous terrain surrounded by glacier streams, pine and oak trees to Sangla located in the Baspa Valley in Kinnaur. After check-in guests can enjoy the beauty of the picturesque place.
Day 3 features a day trip to Chitkul, located at 3450 metres altitude and the last village near the Indo-China border that is inhabited by man. Later in the day, guests have the option to hike upto the Kamru Fort in the nearby village of Kamru. The next day guests have the option to choose from various hiking options – visit the Sangla Meadows or move to Rakcham village or move upto the Glacier point near Batseri Village.
Those who love fishing can try angling on Baspa River. On the fifth day, guests’ checkout of Sangla and are driven by surface to Kalpa located at about 2759 metres above sea level in the Sutlej Valley. Highlights of your stay here include mesmerizing view of the Kinnaur Kailash at sunset and an adventurous trip to Roghi Village. The next day guests are taken to the Chandika Devi Temple, the Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar monastery and the Narayan Nagni Temple near Kalpa.
Guests have free time on hand as well to relax and appreciate nature’s bounty, this being the last day in Kinnaur, after the visit to the religious places. The next day you depart from Kinnaur district and move towards the state capital which takes about 8 hours by road.
A famous hub for tourists from all over the world, you can visit the famous Mall road to shop for your near and dear ones in the evening here. The next day, our drivers drive you down to Chandigarh to continue with the next phase of your journey.

Arrival Chandigarh by flight / train - Chandigarh - Shillaroo by Surface (Approx. 180 Kms / 07 hrs drive + stops)• Arrival at Chandigarh Airport / Railway Station. Upon arrival you will be picked up and will be driven to Shillaroo (Narkanda), approx. 170 kms drive. Later upon arrival check in at your hotel. • Overnight stay in Narkanda.
Shillaroo - Sangla by Surface (Approx. 180 Kms / 07 hrs drive + stops)• Breakfast at the hotel. • Later you will be driven to Sangla (approx. 2,680 meters above sea level). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. • Sangla is a picturesque hill town situated in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh. Located in the valley of Baspa, this place lies in proximity to the Tibetan border. The scenic beauty of the region is mesmerizing as it rests in the Greater Himalayas and is enveloped with forest slopes and mountains. The entire region lies amid beautiful pine trees and oak forests and the presence of the glacier streams and forests further enhances the beauty of the place. • After some rest, you can walk leisurely near your hotel surroundings. • Overnight stay in Sangla.
Sangla• Breakfast at the hotel. • Morning go for a half day excursion to Chitkul (approx. 3450 meters above sea level), approx. 20 kms / 01 hr drive each way. Chitkul is the last inhabited village near the Indo-China border. You can visit village temple famously known as Mathi devi temple, the village and baspa river. • Return back to Sangla after the visit. Optional visit is Kamru fort which is in village Kamru near Sangla. The village is an ancient capital of the Bushahr principality which later shifted to Sarahan. You have to hike a bit to reach this small fort. No one is allowed to visit the temple located inside this fort.
Sangla• Breakfast at the hotel. • Day is free at leisure. There are some comfortable day hikes in the Sangla valley and you can go for one of those hikes today. - To Sangla Meadows (kanda): A full-day hike to green pastures. - To Rakcham: A beautiful five-hour walk along the Baspa to Rakcham village. - To Batseri village and glacier point: Visit this typical Kinnauri village and hike to the • glacier point. • Alternately, you can also do angling on Baspa river as Baspa is famous for trout fishing. Fishing is seasonal and permits are required to do angling. • Overnight stay in Sangla.
Sangla - Kalpa by Surface (approx. 50 Kms / 2.5 hrs drive)• Breakfast at the hotel. • Later you will be driven to Kalpa (approx. 2759 mts above sea level). Upon arrival at Kalpa, check in at the hotel. • Kalpa was earlier the headquarters of the Kinnaur region. However, it was later replaced by the city of Reckong Peo. The town on Kalpa is located in Sutlej river valley and is famous for its apple plantation. The quaint town of Kalpa is cradled between the majestic Kinnaur Kailash (the mythical abode of Shiva), Raldang Massif (21,250 ft) and the Jorkanden ranges. On the left of the Kinnaur Kailash peak (19, 849 ft) stands the Shivling peak, named after the 79-ft high phallic boulder perched on the top, looking rainbow-hued in the sunlight. • Evening visit nearby Roghi village. Road to Roghi village is adventurous and famous for a high cliff. Village has a nice old wooden temple as well which you can also visit. • Also witness mesmerizing Kinner Kailash peak during sunset. • Overnight stay at the hotel.
Kalpa• Breakfast at the hotel. • Later visit Chandika Devi temple Kothi, Narayan Nagni temple and buddhist monastery i.e. Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar monastery. The monastery is said to have been founded by Rinchen Zangpo (950-1055 AD), who translated Sanskrit Buddhist texts into Tibetan. • Remainder of the day is free at leisure. • Overnight stay at the hotel.
Kalpa - Shimla by Surface (approx. 240 Kms / 08 hrs drive + stops)• Breakfast at the hotel. • Later drive to Shimla (Approx. 2200 meters above sea level). Upon arrival check in at the hotel. • Shimla is the capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Well known as the Queen of Hills, is an all time destination for tourists, for lovers of nature and solitude. Situated on the lower spurs on North-West Himalayas at a height of 2205 meters it has always enticed and cast a spell on anyone who set ones foot on these slopes once. The hill station is enveloped by seven hills that include Jakhoo Hill, Bantony Hill, Prospect Hill, Summer Hill, Observatory Hill, Invererarm Hill and Elysium Hill. In 1864, Shimla was declared as the summer capital of the British Empire in India. • Evening is free at leisure to rest or you can explore the famous market street of Shimla i.e. The Mall. • Overnight stay in Shimla.
Shimla - Chandigarh by Surface (Approx. 115 Kms / 04 hrs drive + stops) - Chandigarh Departure by flight / train• Breakfast at the hotel. • Later you will be driven to Chandigarh. Upon arrival you will be transferred to Chandigarh airport / Railway Station for an onward journey.
