Rann means “desert”, The great Rann of Kutch is the largest salt and one of the largest salt deserts of India and world. The region is filled with vast, barren white land meeting no ends wherever the eyes go, it is one of the hottest regions with temperatures touching heat stroking 50C to jaw dropping 0C at nights. It is home to almost 6 of the India’s biggest wildlife reserves and is one of the most diversified wildlife regions of India. The area is known for Ghost lights which are similar to northern lights of Iceland and Norway. The best time to visit the city is during the RannUtsav Festival which carries on for 3 months bringing travellers closer to the mystique and beautiful region of the Great Rann of Kutch.
